If you are passing through or if you are simply looking for a place to worship we would love for you to
visit with us. Below you will find a list of things to expect while
you are with us. If you still have questions, please let us know.
Lord's Supper
We partake of the Lord's supper on the first day of every week (
Acts 20:7)
as a memorial to Christ's death on the cross.
Bible Study
If you worship with us during one of our scheduled class times you will be
treated to a study and discussion of God's word led by a man of the
congregation. We have classes for all ages of children.
If you are with us during a regular worship time, our evangelist, Charles
Payne, will present a lesson from God's word.
Singing
A significant Part of our worship is the song service (
Ephesians 5:19,
Colossians 3:16). An able man from the group will lead the congregation in
the singing of hymns a capella (no musical accompaniment). We have no
authority in the new testament for the use of musical instruments during our
song worship. We use the Hymns for Worship (Revised) hymnal.
Prayer
At various times during the service we will pray together to our Lord
(
Philippians 4:6). These prayers are meant to praise the Lord, show our
thankfulness to the Lord for our blessings, make requests of the Lord, and
confess our sins to the Lord.
Collection
We are commanded to set aside funds for the local work (
I Corinthians 16:1-2).
We take a collection of the members every Sunday. These funds are used to
continue the work in the Waxahachie area and to help spread the gospel in
other areas. We would not solicit funds from you if you are visiting.
